Bylaws Changes Approved

TLA members numbering about 90 at the Isola Bella pavilion for the June 22 meeting, during which the bylaws were amended.
Bylaw changes that included a new approval process for large expenditures were approved on June 22 by a unanimous Twin Lakes Association membership vote. About 90 members attended. The new process increases the board’s spending limit on any single expense to $25,000, from $5,000. The new limit is roughly the inflation-adjusted value of the old limit when it was set decades ago. The new bylaws, as amended, are posted on the TLA website. (Scroll down after accessing with the link.)

In other business, members were updated on the status of herbicide applications, aquatic plant studies, progress battling hydrilla and other invasive plants, boat launch monitoring, and recent land trust purchases seen as key to maintaining water quality. Details can be found in the minutes and slides from the meeting.

The board recognized the long service of outgoing TLA secretary Pat Miller, right, who will not stand for re-election as part of a slate of directors nominated and to be voted on at the Aug. 3 meeting.

The annual meeting will be Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at Isola Bella and, as usual, Twin Lakes Day will follow at 1 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help set up, break down, supervise games, and act as contest judges. If you’d like to help, contact Sharon Aiuvalasit at
