The Twin Lakes Association during the annual meeting Aug. 8 unanimously approved a 2027 budget that will be lower for the first time in several years. The budget will fall to $450,000 from $475,000, and down from a previously projected $500,000 as the board anticipates modestly lower lake management costs. As noted at the meeting, no viable hydrilla plants have been found in the water this year.
Lake management costs will remain elevated in coming years due to ongoing surveillance, monitors at the boat launch, and other preventative measures. But costs should continue to recede, barring unforeseen problems. Vew the budget projections here. View the slides from the meeting here and the notes from the meeting here.
Also approved were a handful of bylaws changes needed to bring the board into compliance with various laws and regulators, as well as the Lake Preservation Fund charter. The charter states the fund’s mission and sets governance rules. Details can be found in the meeting notes.
The board acknowledged the hard work of outgoing directors Eric Stoer, Jeff Cox, Jack Mahoney, Blake Morrison, and 20-year director Bill Barton (pictured nearby). Welcomed were new directors Dag Skattum, Kim Gilman, Cathy Durning, and Cam McClearn (pictured below, left to right, are ex-officio director Will Webb from Salisbury School, Kim Gilman, Cathy Durning, Dag Skattum).
